It was published in an article on the official website of the publisher, in which he explained the holding of a new tournament by the current situation between Epic and tech giants Google and Apple. We remind you that last week, August 13, the creator of Fortnite introduced a new system for acquiring in-game currency (V-Bucks), which did not use the embedded systems of Apple and Google to conduct transactions (as a result, removing a 30% commission). On the same day, Apple banned the game from the App Store, to which Epic responded with a 1984-style themed video parodying an old Apple ad, and a lawsuit against Apple to “strip tech giants of their monopoly on the mobile games market.”
The new tournament is viewed as the last opportunity to play together with friends from all possible platforms, as of August 27, there will be a transition to a new game season, Chapter 2 – Season 4, which will not be available for iOS users.
You can only participate in the tournament using the Solo mode, playing up to 12 matches. During the tournament you need to collect points, 1 point can be earned for every 3 minutes spent in the “Battle Royale“, as well as for each elimination, while for each Victory Royale you get 10 points.
The best players, depending on the number of scored points, can receive different prizes. The “Evil Apple” skin from the aforementioned parody video is the easiest to get, it is given when your score reaches 10.
Moreover, you can get a real “dad hat” with the “Free Fortnite” symbol on it for getting into the top 20,000 players in the world.
The most successful players at the top of the rankings up to 1200’th place will receive one gaming device from the list published on the Epic Games website, which includes a variety of game consoles, laptops, and tablets.
